Union Cabinet Minister Smriti Irani wished her fans and followers on Ganesh Chaturthi with a delightful picture of Ganpati Bappa on Instagram. The picture is actually a symbolic representation of Bappa entering a hut to bless a child.
"Ganpati Bappa Morya," reads Smriti's caption of the post that has already garnered over 35,000 likes. Her fans also wished Smriti in the comments section and said, "Ganpati Bappa Morya. Happy Ganesh Chaturthi to Smriti Ma'am and family." Another user wrote in praise of the picture that Smriti shared and said, "So sweet."
Ekta Kapoor, meanwhile, is upset about the fact that Smriti - her best friend - couldn't attend Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations at her residence in Mumbai. On her Ganesh Chaturthi post, Ekta commented: "U shud have been here."
Smriti did respond to Ekta and said, "I shall be there," with a heart emoticon. So sweet.
Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated across India but it is deemed as Maharashtra's largest public festival.
Smriti Irani appeared in several acclaimed television shows including Ekta Kapoor's Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi before venturing into politics.
