BRICS Summit 2023: PM Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping held brief talks at the 15th BRICS summit in Johannesburg. It is being told that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a brief conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping after the joint press conference of the leaders on Thursday. After the incident of Galvan 2020, there has been no bilateral talks between the heads of state of India and China. Both the leaders had earlier met briefly during the G-20 summit and now the same has happened in the BRICS summit. Although, before the BRICS summit, the Indo-China forces held talks on the Ladakh border, till now both the countries have held talks with many countries at the army level.Speculations were rife whether Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi would hold talks at the BRICS summit or not. Even on the first day of the BRICS summit, Xi Jinping did appear in a 'frame' on a stage with the BRICS heads of state, but he did not give an address.
