India-Pakistan Relations: Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar on Friday attended a book launch event in Delhi and shared his views openly on India-Pakistan relations. He made it clear that the era of repeated talks with Pakistan is over and now any incident will be responded to. In the context of the abolition of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, he said that it is necessary to consider relations with Pakistan at present.Jaishankar also said that India will not remain passive and will respond to positive or negative events. Along with this, Pakistan has invited PM Modi to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting to be held in Islamabad in October.Referring to Afghanistan, Jaishankar said that the country's social ties are strong, but the situation in Afghanistan is clearly different without the presence of the US. While reviewing the Afghan policy, he made it clear that India is aware of its priorities and will not be confused by the old approach.Also on Maldives and Bangladesh, the External Affairs Minister said India's approach towards Maldives has been full of ups and downs, but the relationship remains deeply invested and seen as a stabilising force.
