BJP has no fear, is ready to contest corporation elections: Shah

During the discussion on the Delhi Municipal Corporation Amendment Bill-2022, which will unite the three municipal corporations of Delhi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, if the Delhi government had given 19 thousand crores of its share, then this situation would not have happened today.

On concerns raised by some opposition members, the Home Minister said the bill was not an attack on the federal structure in any way. He said that Delhi is only a Union Territory, it is not a full-fledged state and Parliament has the right to make laws on it. That's why this bill has been brought.

Rejecting the opposition's allegation that the central government had brought this bill due to the fear of losing the civic polls, Amit Shah said that the BJP has no fear. After the delimitation is done, we are fully prepared to contest the elections. He told the opposition parties that if elections are held after six months, you will be defeated.

Replying to Sanjay Singh of AAP, he said, Sanjay Bhai, I will clarify the country, but I will not use phobia such language. Even Jawaharlal Nehru never told Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Parliament that he has become a phobia.

Congress see its own face in the mirror

The Home Minister said on the allegation of Congress's hunger for power that he himself should see his face in the mirror. Shah said that since 2014 till now there is neither the fear of losing nor the arrogance of winning. When we used to have two members in our Parliament, the Congress used to taunt us two, our two. Congress MP Shakti Singh Gohil rightly said that those who forget history become history. Almighty is not a family, there are 130 crore people.

Center has not given even a single rupee to corporations: Atishi

In the Rajya Sabha, AAP retaliated after Union Home Minister Amit Shah accused the Delhi government of step-motherly treatment of the three municipal corporations. AAP leader Atishi said that the central government gives Rs 488 per person to all the corporations of the country, but does not give a single paisa to the corporations of Delhi. Atishi said that according to the population of Delhi, the municipal corporations of Delhi should get 730 crores per year from the central government. There is a BJP government at the Center and in the municipal corporations, yet the municipal corporations of Delhi are not getting funds.
