Maharashtra Election 2024: Preparations are in full swing for the Maharashtra Assembly elections, and the polling date has been set for November 20. The election results will be announced on November 23. The Maha Vikas Aghadi, which comprises Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), and Congress, has finalised the seat-sharing formula. The three parties are set to contest 85-85 seats. In this sequence, Shiv Sena (UBT) and NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) have released their list of candidates.

Shiv Sena (UBT) has already announced its 65 candidates, and now NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) has also released the first list of 9 candidates. This list includes the names of prominent leaders who will contest from various assembly constituencies.

Challenge from nephew on Baramati seat

One of the most interesting contests in this election will be for the Baramati seat. The Sharad Pawar faction of the NCP has fielded Yugendra Pawar, who is Ajit Pawar's nephew. This seat is considered Ajit Pawar's stronghold, from where he has been winning continuously since 1991. However, this time Yugendra Pawar will give him a tough challenge, as Yugendra has already been active in this area and has also campaigned during the Lok Sabha elections.
