Delhi Politics: Former Delhi Health Minister and senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Satyendra Jain, who was recently released from jail on bail, has launched a scathing attack on the central government. In his statement given on Saturday morning, Jain said, "If there was no democracy, the central government would have hanged me by now." His statement has created a stir in political circles.

Arvind Kejriwal's reaction

Aam Aadmi Party chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also reacted to Satyendra Jain's statement. Kejriwal said, "If we try to bring about change, we will have to go to jail." He stressed that the purpose of repeatedly putting his party leaders in jail is only to stop the reforms being carried out by him and his government.

'Almost died' in jail: Satyendra Jain

Satyendra Jain shared his jail experiences and told how he was treated inhumanly. He said, "It has been more than seven years since this case against me started, and the investigation is still not complete. Their only aim was to arrest me, Manish Sisodia and Arvind Kejriwal."

He claimed that he was kept in solitary confinement for months, and his health was badly affected. "I had lost 40 kg of weight, but the BJP will never bring it before the people. I almost died in jail," Jain said.

Jain also gave clarification regarding the CCTV footage of the jail. On the basis of these footage, the BJP had alleged that Satyendra Jain was being given 'special facilities' in the jail. On this, Jain said that whatever facilities were there in the jail were given equally to all the prisoners, but it was made a political issue.

'Reminds me of British rule' - Jain accuses Centre

Attacking the BJP and the central government, Satyendra Jain said, "It seems the British rule is back. The BJP will not compete in working, they just say we will not let you work." He claimed that he was arrested only to stop the work being done by the Aam Aadmi Party government.

He alleged that his arrest came when work was going on in Delhi for building mohalla clinics, new hospitals and cleaning the Yamuna river. Jain said, "It was just to stop the work being done by Arvind Kejriwal."

'Unfortunate for the country'

Satyendra Jain concluded his statement by saying, "It is very unfortunate for the country. No matter which party we are in, our main aim should be to work for the betterment of the country." He stressed that politics should not hinder public welfare work, rather the competition should be in working and not in stopping work.

Jain was granted bail by a Delhi court on Friday, and was released late in the evening. His statement came soon after his release, and is being seen as a new direction of discussion in Indian politics.
