Caste Census - There are no Dalits and tribals in Miss India list: Rahul Gandhi
Caste Census: Rae Bareli MP and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi has once again called for the need for caste census. At the Samvidhan Samman Sammelan held in Prayagraj on Saturday, Rahul Gandhi attacked the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stressing the importance of caste census.Rahul Gandhi said in the conference that 90% of the country's population - which includes Dalits, tribals, OBCs, minorities and poor general category people - is not able to use the full potential of the country due to lack of opportunities for them. Giving an example, he said that this situation is like running a 10-cylinder engine with only 1 cylinder, while the remaining 9 are not being used. The Leader of Opposition, citing the Miss India list, said that there is no Dalit or tribal woman in it, highlighting the lack of representation of diverse sections of society. He said, "There is no name of a tribal or Dalit woman in the Miss India list, while cricket, Bollywood are discussed, but there is no talk of farmers and laborers. Have you ever seen an interview of a cobbler in the media?" Rahul Gandhi accused PM Modi and said that the Modi government's claim that the country has become a superpower is baseless until the condition of 90% of the country's population improves. He said, "The country cannot run without 90 percent of the population."Posting on the issue of caste census on social media, Rahul Gandhi said that if Narendra Modi does not get the caste census done, then the next Prime Minister will definitely get it done. Pointing to the Constitution, he said that every Indian has the right to justice and equality, but the majority of the country's population is neither getting opportunities nor participation in progress. The caste census will reveal the true picture of the society and it will be known how the resources are being distributed and which classes are left behind in representation.
