ICC Player Of The Month - This Indian all-rounder got nominated for ICC Player of the Month Award
ICC Player Of The Month: ICC has announced the nominations for the ICC Player of the Month award for the month of July. ICC has nominated India's Washington Sundar along with England's Gus Atkinson and Scotland's Charlie Cassell for the Player of the Month award. Washington was part of the Indian team that toured Zimbabwe. For the last several years, he has been playing the role of an all-rounder in the Indian team on tours of smaller teams. After battling injuries for some time, Sundar has finally established himself in international cricket. After the T20 World Cup win, when the regular players were given rest, 24-year-old Sundar got a place in the team and he did not let go of this opportunity.English bowler also got nominationEngland's Gus Atkinson's Test debut was amazing. In James Anderson's farewell match, Atkinson created history by wreaking havoc with the ball. He took 12 wickets in his very first Test and registered his name in the record book. He took five or more wickets in both innings. He demolished the West Indies batting order and took seven wickets for 45 runs in the first innings, which bundled out the visiting team for just 121 runs. The 26-year-old also took five wickets for 61 runs in the second innings, helping England win by an innings and 114 runs.Stunning performance by Scotland's bowlerApart from Gus Atkinson, Scotland's Charlie Casson had a great debut in July. In his ODI debut against Oman, Charlie took 7 wickets for 21 runs and shattered Kagiso Rabada's 9-year-old record. Rabada took 6 wickets for 16 runs in his debut ODI match. Charlie did the great feat of taking 2 wickets in the first 2 balls of his ODI career. He sent Oman's Zeeshan Maqsood and Ayan Khan to the pavilion. This performance of Charlie is not only the best bowling record in ODI debut but is also the 7th best bowling performance in 50 overs.
