Although the country is facing severe heat these days, to get rid of this heat, the sale of AC in the domestic market has reached a record of 60 lakh units in just six months. This happened when AC prices have increased two to three times in the last six months. In fact, according to a report by PTI, in the first half of the current year itself, AC sales in the domestic market have reached a record level of 6 million units. Despite being costlier by about 10 to 15 percent, the sales of ACs have not been affected, rather this sales has reached a record level. While Voltas is reported to have sold around 1.2 million residential ACs, LG Electronic India sold over one million inverter ACs in the domestic market in the first half.Other AC makers such as Hitachi, Daikin, Panasonic and Haier also posted growth in sales and expect good sales in the second half of the year as well. Never before have sales figures been so high.Earlier in 2019, when Corona was not affected, 42.5 to 45 lakh units of ACs were sold in the first half. But this time this figure has been left behind. According to the report, the Chairman and Managing Director of Daikin India said that the company sold about four lakh units in the April-June quarter and about seven lakh units in the first half of 2022.The report also mentions that about 30 percent growth has been achieved in comparison to 2019 and 175 percent growth over the previous year.
