Champai Soren News: Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Ranchi on Friday welcomed former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren into the BJP and hailed him as the "Tiger of Kolhan". Soren, who was one of the prominent faces of the Jharkhand movement, recently resigned from the JMM and joined the BJP. Chouhan praised Soren's role in the creation of Jharkhand and said that he had taken tough decisions to free the state from corruption, due to which he had to face the wrath of the JMM.Chohan also alleged that the Jharkhand government tried to humiliate Soren, while Soren struggled a lot for the welfare of Jharkhand. The BJP and Soren have vowed to protect the honour of Jharkhand and its people.Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Soren was kept under surveillance by the Jharkhand Police for six months, and the JMM-alliance will get a strong reply in two months. He warned the Hemant Soren government over corruption charges, and also commented on the facilitation of time for Friday prayers in the assembly. Sarma said the decision was a collective decision of the assembly and not his individual decision.Sarma, the BJP's co-in-charge for the Jharkhand assembly elections, said, "Champai Soren was kept under surveillance by the Jharkhand police for six months. I have never heard such a thing about any chief minister. I warn (Chief Minister Hemant Soren), we will give a strong response in two months." He said the corrupt Hemant Soren government did not spare even a big leader like Champai Soren, who was a close associate of JMM chief Shibhu Soren.Sarma said, "In 1937 when the Muslim League was ruling Assam and Sir Syed Saadullah was the chief minister, they had fixed a two-hour break for Jumma ki namaz every Friday. Today our MLAs have decided that we have to come to the assembly to work. So we don't want a two-hour break." There are members of the minority community in our assembly rules committee, so this decision has been taken by everyone together. This is not my personal decision, it is the decision of the assembly.
