Congress Foundation Day: Today is the 139th foundation day of Congress. During this time, the party is busy in making the huge rally to be held in Nagpur historic. Senior Congress leaders including party president Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will participate in this rally. The party will hold a mega rally in RSS stronghold Nagpur to sound the trumpet for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and demonstrate its strength.
The party has also given the slogan ‘Taiyaar Hain Hum’ for the Maharally. Party leaders and workers from different provinces of the country are also reaching Nagpur. The theme and issues of the general elections are likely to be announced in the rally. After the mega rally, Kharge will hold a meeting with general secretaries and state in-charges, where the strategy for the Lok Sabha elections will be discussed.
Congress hopes 10 lakh people will attend the rally
Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan says that he will give a strong reply to BJP on the ground of Sangh. This is the first time that Sonia, Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi are going to be seen together in Nagpur. 247 prominent leaders, most of the MPs and about 300 out of 600 MLAs are likely to attend the rally. The party has hoped that at least 10 lakh people will gather in this mega rally.
Congress leader Chavan says that the present BJP government has failed to solve all the problems including unemployment, inflation and farmer suicides and to provide relief to the people. Congress wants to give a strong message to the BJP led central government through this rally. This is the reason why Nagpur has been chosen for the rally. The party has already given the slogan ‘Taiyar Hain Hum’, which is making its intentions clear.
Nagpur Police issued advisory
Before the rally, the police has issued a traffic advisory, which has been implemented from 8 am to 9 pm on Thursday. Two-wheelers, cars and autos going from Nagpur towards Umred will have to pass through Chamat Chakki Chowk near Mhalgi Nagar Chowk and then take entry from Pipla Road. Similarly, vehicles coming from Umred will be diverted from Mhalgi Nagar Chowk via Khurd Bridge. There will be a ban on movement of heavy vehicles on the Ring Road. This advisory is not applicable to emergency service vehicles and school buses.
