Parliament 2023: Today is the last day of the monsoon session of Parliament. There are chances of uproar in the House again today. Earlier yesterday, the no-confidence motion of the opposition was defeated in the Lok Sabha. The Monsoon Session of the Parliament began on July 20 but the Manipur violence case continued to create ruckus throughout the session. The demand of the opposition was that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should speak on the issue of Manipur in the Parliament. But the war of words between the party and the opposition continued. Meanwhile, the opposition coalition decided to bring a no-confidence motion.PM Modi spoke on no-confidence motion for more than two hoursAfter the debate on the no-confidence motion on August 8 and 9, Prime Minister Narendra Modi replied in the House last evening. He gave a speech for more than 2 hours. While he taunted the opposition, he mentioned the achievements of his government. On the issue of Manipur, he said- I want to assure the countrymen that due to the efforts being made, the sun of peace will definitely rise in the near future. Manipur will then move forward with new confidence. He said that the whole country stands with Manipur.Sonia Gandhi called a meetingOn the other hand, CPP President Sonia Gandhi has called a meeting of Congress Lok Sabha MPs at 10.30 am today to discuss the suspension of Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary in the Lok Sabha. The meeting has been called at the CPP office in Parliament. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge termed the suspension of party's leader in the Lok Sabha, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, as undemocratic and unfortunate, saying it showed the arrogance of power. He also alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has used the House for an election rally.
