Shardiya Navratri: Different forms of Goddess Durga are worshiped during the nine days of Navratri, and the sixth day is dedicated to the worship of Maa Katyayani. It is believed that Maharishi Katyayana did severe penance of the goddess, as a result of which the mother was born in his house. For this reason she is called 'Katyayani'.
