Uproar over Azmi's statement - 'Islam does not allow saying Vande Mataram'.

Abu Azmi Statement: A statement by Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Abu Azmi created an uproar in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. Actually, Abu Azmi said that his religion does not allow him to bow down before anyone. That's why we cannot say Vande Mataram. He said that we do not bow our heads even in front of our mother, we bow our heads only in front of Allah. On Abu Azmi's statement, NCP MLA Rohit Pawar said, it does not matter who belongs to which religion, everyone should respect and love their country. No one should speak against the country.

Abu Azmi said, Muslims were defamed in the name of Aftab Poonawala (accused in the Shraddha case). Referring to the incident outside the Ram temple in Aurangabad, he said that a slogan was raised there that if you want to live in India, you have to say Vande Mataram. This spoiled the atmosphere. The police removed both the groups from there. 15-20 people came there. After this, people from both the sides came there and sloganeering and quarrel started.

Abu Azmi said, according to the police, 250-250 people were present from both sides. That's why my question is why people of the same religion were arrested. Abu Azmi said that a man named Muniruddin was present in the premises of his house when the police opened fire there. A man was also present there with his five-year-old child. Police officers say that I fired while bending down. Abu Azmi said in the House that this police officer is lying.

Uproar over Abu Azmi's statement

After Abu Azmi's statement, there was an uproar in the assembly and BJP MLAs came to the well. The proceedings of the House were adjourned for 10 minutes. BJP leader Ashish Shelar said that we oppose and condemn what Abu Azmi spoke in the House. Vande Mataram is the national anthem and we do not want a person who disrespects it in this house. He appealed to the Assembly Speaker that Abu Azmi's statement should be taken out of the record.

BJP leader Nitesh Rane attacked Abu Azmi. He said, we are people who believe in the constitution. Those who believe in the constitution speak Vande Mataram with pride. Abu Azmi does the work of spewing poison.
