Uttarakhand govt extends COVID-19 induced curfew till 6 am on August 31

Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government on Monday extended COVID-induced curfew for seven days till August 31. The ongoing curfew will remain in force from 6 am on August 24 till 6 am on August 31.

As per the new COVID rules, a maximum of 50 people will be allowed to attend a marriage function during the curfew period. However, the attendees will have to possess a negative RT-PCR, TrueNat/CBNAAT/RAT COVID report not earlier than 72 hours of the event.

For funerals, the Uttarakhand government has allowed up to 50 attendees.

Social, political gatherings remain prohibited till further order.

The tourist destinations will remain open for all. However, fearing big crowds at the famous places, the government has asked the local administration to ensure that tourists as well as locals strictly follow coronavirus protocols and wear masks and maintain social distancing. The state government has warned of strict action against people flouting COVID norms.

The Uttarakhand government has exempted fully vaccinated air/bus/train passengers arriving in the state from carrying a negative RT-PCR/RAT/TrueNat/CBNAAT coronavirus test report. However, the people from other states wishing to visit the hill state will have to register themselves on smartcitydehradun.uk.gov.in and follow all the COVID-19 protocols put in place by the Centre.
