- Bundi is all set for its historical event and is exhilarated to welcome the new Maharao Raja on Hindu New Year
- Many former princely states personalities will be arriving to attend the event,The Paag Dastur of Bundi's new Maharao Raja Vanshvardhan Singh. It will be held on Saturday 2nd April 2022 on Vikrami Samvat Hindu New Year. The event will be graced by many royal families including Sawai Maharaja Jitendra Singh of Alwar, Maharao Ijyaraj Singh Kotah, Padma Shri Maharao Raghuveer Singh of Sirohi, Raja Priyawrat of Khilchipur, Maharajkumar Jaivardhan Singh of Raghogarh, Yuvraj Pratap Singh of Kutch, Maharaja Ravi Raj Singh of Bikaner and Maharaj Rana Chandrajit Singh Jhalawar. The ceremony will begin at 10 am in Moti Mahal Palace situated on the banks of Nawal Sagar Lake in Bundi. The entire event of Raj tilak will be held at Moti Mahal of the former royal family. Members of many former princely states have reached Bundi for the event. After Paag Dastur the Nazarana will be held at Darikhana of Ratan Daulat located at Garh Palace. After this a formal procession will take place in the city begining from the Garh Palace to Kesari Daulat via major city routes. At 4:00 pm the procession will begin where the Maharao Raja will enter into the city and will be greeted and paid appropriate homage by the civic authorities. The procession will be welcomed at many places by showering flower petals.This eternal tradition will take shape in Bundi, popularly known as Choti Kashi where there is a wave of happiness in every corner of the city. After the death of Maharao Raja Ranjit Singh without an heir in the year 2010, no decision was taken on the paag till 2021. Belonging to the same family lineage of the former royal house of Bundi, members of both royal families of Kota and Alwar have now issued consent letters stating that Kunwar Vanshvardhan Singh Kapren is entitled to the paag. After these letters, the Thikanedars of Bundi State have also supported this decision.Bundi is the ancient dynasty of Rajputana. The princely state of Bundi is considered to be the oldest princely state of Rajputana after the Mewar royalty. It was founded by Maharao Deva Hada in 1242. There have been many majestic rulers in the Bundi dynasty. It is the first princely state of Hada clan of Chauhan dynasty of Rajputana.Introduction of Vanshvardhan Singh:- The new Maharao Raja Vanshvardhan Singh was born on 8 January 1987 in the house of Maharajadhiraj Balbhadra Singh of Kapren. His primary education was from Daly College, Indore (Madhya Pradesh). Graduation was done from De Montfort University, Leicester, England. Vanshvardhan Singh earned his master's degree in hospitality and tourism management from Canada and is now running a heritage hotel under the name of Ishwari Niwas in Bundi. Vanshvardhan Singh returned to Bundi in 2013. He has been made the successor of Maharao Raja Ranjit Singh according to the lineage tradition. He got married to Mayurakshi Kumari, the daughter of Thakur Deep Singh Dhanani (Jalore) in the year 2016. Vanshvardhan Singh and Mayurakshi have a two-year-old son, Vajranabh Singh.
