When Virat was returning from the field after winning, he waved towards the daughter and wife and shouted loudly in enthusiasm.

Team India won the toss and decided to bat first. On the first day of the match, India scored 272 for three on the basis of the innings of KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal. The second day's play was washed out due to rain, but on the third day the bowlers performed brilliantly. South African bowlers bundled out Team India for 327 runs and then Team India did not allow South Africa to progress beyond 197 runs in the first innings. India's second innings was reduced to 174 runs and South Africa got a target of 305 runs to win. South Africa could only manage 191 runs in the second innings and India won the match by 113 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the series.
