Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Saturday that after his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the G7 summit, there is a commitment to work together with India to deal with some "very important issues". Modi posted a picture of the two leaders shaking hands on social media on Friday, saying, "Met Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at the G7 Summit." This meeting, held during the G7 summit in Apulia, southern Italy, is the first meeting amid strained diplomatic relations over pro-Khalistan extremism. The allegations made by Canada last year were strongly rejected by the Indian Foreign Ministry, calling them "absurd and motivated". Trudeau told reporters at a press conference at the end of the three-day G7 summit on Saturday, "I will not go into the details of this important, sensitive issue, on which we need to work further. But it is a commitment to work together to deal with some very important issues in the times to come.''

What happened between Trudeau and Modi
