Manish Sisodia News: The Supreme Court will pronounce its verdict today i.e. on August 9 on the bail plea of former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia, who is lodged in Tihar Jail since last year. The court had reserved its decision after hearing the arguments of ED and Sisodia. The Supreme Court had reserved its verdict on Tuesday i.e. August 6 on the bail plea of former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, lodged in Tihar Jail in corruption and money laundering cases related to the Delhi Excise Policy alleged scam (2021-22), after hearing the arguments of Sisodia and the Enforcement Directorate (ED). A division bench of Justice B.R. Gavai and Justice K.V. Vishwanathan is hearing the case. Sisodia resigned from the Delhi Cabinet on 28 February 2023Sisodia has been in Tihar Jail for 17 monthsCBI arrested Sisodia last year i.e. on 26 February 2023 in a corruption case and ED arrested him on 9 March the same year under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Before the Supreme Court, Sisodia had filed his bail plea in the Delhi High Court in May, which was rejected by the court.Decision in both ED and CBI casesAfter the decision of the Delhi High Court, the AAP leader approached the Supreme Court and filed a petition, but the court rejected it as well. Sisodia has been in jail for 17 months, the court rejected the petition to review the order after allowing Sisodia to file a fresh application for bail as the trial was going on for a long time. Sisodia had sought bail for the initial delay in the case. This decision of the Supreme Court will be on bail in both the ED and CBI cases filed by Sisodia.
