Wrestlers Protest: Wrestlers demanding the arrest of Bharatiya Janata Party MP and Wrestling Federation of India president Braj Bhushan Sharan Singh decided on Tuesday that they would throw their medals in the river Ganges. These wrestlers, who have been protesting for their demands at Delhi's Jantar Mantar for almost a month, were going to protest outside the Parliament House on 28 February. Then the Delhi Police took him into custody on the charge of breaking barricades. Many serious sections were imposed against the wrestlers. Hurt by this, the wrestlers decided to throw the medals in the river Ganga in Haridwar at 6 pm on Tuesday.On this, the Haridwar Police Administration says that it will not stop the wrestlers coming to Haridwar, nor will they be stopped from shedding the Medal in the river. In media reports, SSP Ajay Singh has been quoted as saying that wrestlers are free to do anything. If they are coming to the holy Ganga on the pretext of their medals, then we will not stop them. He told that he has not received any instructions from senior officials to stop the wrestlers.'Welcoming wrestlers on Ganga Dussehra'SSP Ajay Singh further said that people keep immersing gold, silver and bones in the river Ganges and if wrestlers also want to immerse their medals, they can do so. He said that on the occasion of Ganga Dussehra, about 15 lakh devotees have reached Haridwar to take bath in the river Ganga and on this auspicious occasion wrestlers are also welcome in Haridwar.Alleging sexual exploitation against MP Braj Bhushan Sharan Singh, the wrestlers were protesting at Jantar Mantar since April 23 demanding his arrest. On Sunday, the wrestlers decided that on the occasion of the inauguration of the new parliament, they would stage a peaceful sit-in in front of it. However, the police stopped him at Jantar Mantar itself. During this, many pictures of the wrestlers being taken into custody by force also came to the fore. After the wrestlers were taken into custody, the police also removed their tents, in which they had been staying for a month.Fast unto death at India Gate after shedding medalHurt by this incident, Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat, who have become the face of this protest, informed by tweeting that this treatment meted out to them has shaken them. Wrestlers told that today i.e. Tuesday at 6 pm, they will go to Haridwar and throw the medals they won in the Olympic and World Championships into the river Ganges. After this, the wrestlers will fast unto death at India Gate for their demands.
