Cricket - You must've held those tears to say goodbye to your passion: Sakshi as Dhoni retires
Cricket Desk: If there is one person who has spent the most time with MS Dhoni over the last decade, it has to be Sakshi Dhoni. Like her man, she went through all those highs and lows and no one else could understand him better than her. Sakshi has often been quite active on social media unlike the 39-year-old and is quite vocal when it comes to the defence of her husband. But on the occasion of MS Dhoni’s retirement, she came up with a simple and subtle message.

On Saturday evening, MS Dhoni took it to Instagram to announce his retirement from all forms of international cricket. After having served India for 15 years, he felt that this was the right time for him to hang up his boots. His post had several mixed reactions and most of the fans wanted him to take his announcement back. But Sakshi didn’t put up any write-ups like many others.

Her message was as simple as MS Dhoni is on and off the field

Sakshi Dhoni just put up two emojis in a comment on her husband’s post. While one many think it was not anything significant, she conveyed the message she wanted to just through those two emojis. With the ‘love’ emoji first up, she expressed her admiration and fondness towards the former wicket-keeper batsman. And with the ‘hifi’ emoji, which is regarded as the ‘praying hands’ emoji in India, she expressed her gratitude to all the fans.

MS Dhoni’s retirement talks have been a hot topic for discussion for quite a few years now. And they only took off once he decided to take a break after the World Cup 2019. His fans expected him to play the T20 World Cup 2020 which is postponed due to the pandemic. Right after this decision was made, it seemed quite evident that the announcement is just around the corner.

In his illustrious career for India, MS Dhoni played 350 ODIs, 90 Tests and 98 T20Is. He led the team to several memorable wins and last captained the team during the Asia Cup 2018 – a game that finished in a tie. Despite retiring from international cricket, Dhoni will continue to feature in the IPL.
