Ashish Mishra, son of the Union Minister of State for Home, accused in the Kheri case, was arrested at 10:50 pm on Saturday night. He was arrested after a 12-hour long interrogation. He was sent to jail late at 12:48 pm. Upendra Agrawal, DIG of the Special Supervision Committee formed by the government, came outside the crime branch's office at Police Lines and told that Ashish Mishra has been arrested for not cooperating in the investigation as a murder accused.

He was produced before the duty magistrate after being taken out of the crime branch office at around 12.30 pm. Here the police sought his remand for three days. Defense counsel opposed this. On this the duty magistrate ordered to send Ashish to jail in judicial custody. The next hearing will now take place on Monday.

Earlier on Saturday morning at 10.40 am, Ashish Mishra alias Monu, son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni, suddenly appeared in front of the crime branch office, while his supporters were present under his father's parliamentary office. Along with Ashish Mishra, Lakhimpur Sadar MLA Yogesh Verma, Ajay Mishra Teni's representative Arvind Singh Sanjay and Jitendra Singh Jitu came to the police line office with Ashish Mishra alias Monu.

Sadar MLA and Arvind Singh Sanjay were walking ahead and Monu was following them with long steps towards the crime branch office. When the media standing outside the crime branch office saw Monu, they ran to get their reaction. Before Monu could say anything, two police constables took him towards the crime branch office. Arvind Singh and Ashish Mishra entered Monu Crime Branch's office amid fierce scuffles.

Later Arvind Singh Sanjay came out after giving a bag. DIG Upendra Agarwal was already present in the office. After Ashish Mishra appeared, SP Vijay Dhul, Additional SP Arun Kumar Singh reached the spot. Apart from this, members of the Police Special Investigation Committee, PAC General Sunil Singh, CO Gola Sanjay Nath Tiwari etc. also went inside the crime branch office.

After this the door was closed and the interrogation began. The interrogation of Ashish Mishra lasted for several rounds. First other officers asked questions to Ashish Mishra and after that DIG Upendra Agarwal himself took over the command. The DIG and the Police Investigation Committee asked Ashish Mishra every question the police was looking for answers to. According to sources, inside the closed room, Ashish Mishra was repeatedly giving evidence that he was not at the scene.

He produced several videos and affidavits to prove this point. After this the maze of questions from the police increased. In several phases, four officers cross-questioned Monu. To answer which Ashish Mishra Monu had to present all the video evidence. Along with this, the papers of the allegedly given testimony of those people also had to be produced.
