Sri Lanka thrashed West Indies by 164 runs on the fifth day of the second and final Test on Friday to clean sweep the two-match series 2-0. With this, Sri Lanka has further strengthened its position in the points table of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC). Sri Lanka remains on top in terms of 100% percentage of points. India has slipped to number three.

With this, Sri Lanka has further strengthened its position in the points table of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC). Sri Lanka remains on top in terms of 100% percentage of points. India has slipped to number three. Pakistan has replaced India and has reached the top 2. The two-match Test series between India and New Zealand is also part of the WTC. The first test was a draw. India currently has 30 points.

 India has so far played a total of 5 test matches under the WTC, out of which two have been won and one has been lost, while two tests have been drawn. West Indies needed 297 runs to win the test match. But the West Indies team was all out for 132 runs in 56.1 overs. For Sri Lanka, Imbuldeniya took 5 wickets for 35 runs and Ramesh Mendis took 5 wickets for 65 runs. Mendis took six wickets for 70 runs in the first innings. Mesh was adjudged Player of the Series for taking 15 wickets in the entire series. Dhananjay de Silva was given the Player of the Match award for his unbeaten century in the second innings.

Earlier, Sri Lanka declared their second innings at 345 for nine. Dhananjay de Silva scored an unbeaten 155. Apart from Dhananjay, opener Pathum Nisanka scored 66 and Ambuldeniya scored important 39 runs. For West Indies, left arm spinner Veerasamy Permall took eight wickets in the match. Sri Lanka won the first Test match played in Galle by 187 runs.

The ranking of the team will be done according to the percentage of points. There will be 12 points for a win, six points for a tie match, four points for a draw match and no points for a loss. There will be 100 percent off points for winning, 50 percent off points for a tie, 33.33 percent off points for a draw, and 0 percent off points for losing.
