There was a stir due to five blasts one after the other in a convention center in Kochi, Kerala. One woman died in this blast while 35 people were injured and have been admitted to the hospital. It is being told that these blasts took place on Sunday morning when a prayer meeting was going on at the Christian Convention Centre. There were about 2000 people in the hall at the time of the blasts.

As soon as the information about the matter was received, Kalamassery police reached the spot and said that at present the cause of the explosion has not been known. The police have surrounded the incident site from all sides and have started investigating the matter. It is being told that thousands of people were present in the convention center when the blast took place.

Police cordoned off the blast site

There was chaos all around after the incident. Kalamassery police said that the police received information about the blast at 9 am. Kerala Industries Minister P Rajeev said that the blast site has been cordoned off. Every visitor is being closely monitored. Meanwhile, relief and rescue work is going on at the spot.

Health Minister's instructions to provide better treatment to the injured

All the people injured in the blast were admitted to nearby hospitals including Kalamassery Medical, where they are being treated. Health Minister Veena George has asked government doctors to come on duty after the blast. He has given instructions to provide better treatment to all the injured.

CM Pinarayi Vijayan expressed grief over the incident

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that this is a very unfortunate incident. We are collecting details related to the incident. All the top officials are in Ernakulam. DGP is also going to the spot. We are taking this very seriously. I have spoken to the DGP. We need to get more details after investigation.

NIA and NSG will investigate the incident

On the other hand, Home Minister Amit Shah talked to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan regarding this incident and got information about the situation. After which the Home Minister gave instructions to send NIA and NSG teams to the state. The team of NIA and NSG has left for the crime scene. The team of the Central Investigation Agency will remain there till the completion of the investigation.
