Much of this mystery was solved in the book The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins, released in 1976. It was written in the book that the only purpose of any biological life is to pass its DNA from one generation to another. That is, as soon as these genes are passed to the next generation, then this body has no meaning. However, this cannot be said to be true for all beings. Human being is a great example in this matter. Human life does not end even after passing the genes to the next generation. But such is the life of some living beings. Including spiders, snakes, octopuses.

Many male creatures die soon after sex. The reason for his death is astonishing. Sometimes the female organism eats her partner. Sometimes the male organism is unable to withstand the female's aggression and becomes a victim.

In such cases, scientists say that 'sexual cannibalism' is a basic need of these organisms. During pregnancy, the female organism needs a lot of protein, so soon after breeding these spiders eat their partner.

It has also been revealed in some reports that some females accidentally prey on males. Even more aggressive than their peers and being bigger in size, they kill them.

Female anaconda snakes also kill male anacondas by strangulation after breeding, and on most occasions use them as food. Whereas in animals called isopods, both male and female kill each other after breeding.

In many cases, spiders wait for their partner for prey before breeding, so until these female spiders fill their stomach by eating an insect, the male spiders do not even approach them.

Male spiders called nursery webs bind their partners with silk before having sex with them to protect themselves from attack by female spiders during sex.
