The Ministry of Health has announced a nationwide mock drill on Monday and Tuesday to assess the preparedness of the hospital amid the rise of Corona. Mandaviya on Friday held a meeting on Corona and asked the state health ministers to supervise mock drills in their state hospitals. State and district health departments have also been urged to analyze their capacity to deal with the surge in coronavirus infections. States and Union Territories were also requested to immediately increase the rate of testing from 100 tests per million as per the week ending April 7.

In the virtual meeting, Mandaviya also stressed on the need to identify emergency hotspots by checking the trend of influenza-like illness (ILI) and severe acute respiratory infection (SARI) cases, increasing testing and vaccination and ensuring preparedness of hospital infrastructure Gave. Along with this, apart from scaling up genome sequencing, a response strategy of 'Test-Track-Treat-Vaccinate' and 'Covid-appropriate behaviour' has been formulated.

Currently according to the World Health Organization (WHO) one variant (VOI) of Corona is closely monitoring, XBB.1.5 and six other variants are also being monitored which are- BQ.1, BA.2.75, CH.1.1, XBB, XBF and XBB.1.16

Covid infections in the country have seen an upward trend in the last few days, with daily fresh infections 2,994 on 1st April, 3,824 on 2nd April, 3,641 on 3rd April, 3,038 on 4th April, 4,435 on 5th April, 5,335 on 7th April on 6 and 6,050 and 6,155 on 8 April. The health ministry in its release said that the total active cases currently stand at 32,814, with a daily positivity rate of 3.39 per cent as of Sunday.

Four patients died of corona in Delhi on Sunday

About 700 cases of corona have been registered in the last 24 hours in Delhi. According to the data released by the Health Department, 699 patients have been found Kovid positive in 3305 tests conducted during the last 24 hours in the national capital. With this, the infection rate has gone up to 21.15% and during this period 4 patients have also died.

Corona spread in Maharashtra, Kerala too

Talking about Maharashtra, 788 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the state in the last 24 hours and one patient has also died during this period. With this, the total number of patients in the state has increased to 4587. More than 1800 new cases have come in Kerala in the last 24 hours and with this it has been made mandatory to wear masks in public places in Kerala.

Corona havoc in Himachal-Rajasthan too

137 new cases of corona have been reported in Himachal Pradesh and 4 people have also died during this period. At the same time, the number of active patients has now increased to 1,764. Health department officials said three people died of the virus in Shimla on Sunday, while one person died in Sirmaur district. On the other hand, 165 new cases of Kovid-19 have been reported in Rajasthan on Sunday and one patient has also died during this period.
