Delhi Election: As the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 approach, political equations are changing rapidly. According to sources, the Congress has chosen Alka Lamba as its candidate from the Kalkaji assembly seat. The decision was taken at the Congress Central Election Committee meeting, which is being held today on Tuesday. Alka Lamba, who has previously been a prominent Congress leader in Delhi, is now set to contest against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) along with BJP and Congress candidates.

Alka Lamba's political journey

Alka Lamba has a long experience in politics. She has also been the president of the Delhi Mahila Congress and has made her mark in the Congress party. However, in 2014, she parted ways with the Congress and joined the Aam Aadmi Party. After becoming an MLA from Chandni Chowk in 2015, she resigned from the AAP in 2019 and returned to the Congress again. Now, she is set to challenge Delhi Chief Minister Atishi from Kalkaji.

Other Congress candidates

Congress has announced its candidates on several seats for the Delhi Assembly elections. According to sources, Congress SC-ST Department President Rajesh Lilothia will be the candidate from Seemapuri. Apart from this, Farhad Suri from Jangpura, Asim Ahmed from Matia Mahal and Devendra Sehrawat from Bijwasan have also been chosen as the party's candidates.

Congress's election agenda

Congress plans to take a big step regarding the safety of women in Delhi. The party is going to announce a wristband to every woman. Apart from this, Congress can also announce that it will give financial assistance of Rs 3100 per month to one woman of every house. Along with this, Delhiites will also be promised free electricity up to 400 units.

BJP's preparation

BJP is also busy with its preparations for the Delhi Assembly elections. According to sources, BJP's first list can be released this week, and the party can give tickets to some of its former MPs for the assembly. Particularly, former MP Parvesh Verma is certain to contest against Arvind Kejriwal from New Delhi assembly seat.

BJP has made it clear that it will contest the Delhi assembly elections without a CM candidate. The party will make every effort to increase its seats in the upcoming elections and will field new candidates.

Triangular contest in Delhi

This time again a triangular contest will be seen in the Delhi assembly elections. While the Aam Aadmi Party is working hard to return to power, the BJP is hoping to capture power after 26 years. Congress is also in the electoral fray with full force, and it will be interesting to see how the contest between these three parties changes.

The possibilities of alliance between Congress and Aam Aadmi Party are over, while both the parties contested the Lok Sabha elections together. In such a situation, a decisive contest will be seen again in the Delhi assembly elections, in which BJP, Congress and AAP will put their respective strengths.

Conclusion

The Delhi Assembly elections are going to be a tough political battle, with Alka Lamba's return, Congress' women safety plans and BJP's strategies making the electoral field even more interesting. Now, it remains to be seen which party succeeds in winning the trust of the people of Delhi.
