All the 24 ministers of the Andhra Pradesh Council of Ministers will formally submit their resignations on April 7 so that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy can reconstitute his cabinet. The new council of ministers will be constituted on April 11. The caste criterion is likely to play an important role in the formation of the new cabinet.According to sources, many new faces can be included in the reconstituted cabinet. At least four existing ministers may get a chance in the new cabinet. On May 30, 2019, after taking over as the chief minister, Jagan had announced that he would change his cabinet after two and a half years. The present cabinet took oath on June 8, 2019 and these ministers were to remain in office till December 8, 2021. But the cabinet reorganization was postponed due to several reasons including the Kovid-19 global pandemic. The chief minister had last month announced that he would take up the task of restructuring the cabinet after Ugadi (Telugu New Year's Day falling on April 2) and formation of new districts. 13 new districts were formed in the state on April 4, now the total number of districts in the state has increased to 26.
