Mahakumbh 2025: During Mahakumbh-2025 in Prayagraj, a stampede broke out late at night on the day of Mauni Amavasya, causing panic among the devotees. However, the administration soon controlled the situation and now bathing at Sangam continues smoothly. Devotees are taking a dip of faith and normalcy has been restored in the Sangam area again.

CM Yogi's appeal: Keeping an eye on the incident, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has appealed to the devotees through social media to take bath where they are instead of going towards Sangam Nose. He wrote, "Dear devotees who have come to Mahakumbh-2025, please take bath near the ghat of Maa Ganga and avoid going to Sangam Nose. Follow the instructions of the administration and cooperate in making arrangements."

CM Yogi also clarified that bathing facilities have been provided at many ghats built by the administration so that no one faces inconvenience. He also appealed to the devotees not to pay attention to any kind of rumors.

Bathing resumed at Sangam: Bathing which was interrupted for some time due to the stampede has been resumed. According to video footage and eyewitnesses, devotees are bathing peacefully at Sangam. A female devotee, who has come from Delhi and is present at the Maha Kumbh since January 5, said that she took 108 dips in Sangam and appreciated the arrangements made by the administration. She said, "Police are serving a lot here and there is no problem."

Appeal of spiritual gurus: Spiritual guru Devkinandan Thakur and Swami Rambhadracharya have also appealed to the devotees to give up their insistence on going to Sangam and take a safe bath. Guru Devkinandan Thakur said, "I did not go to Sangam Ghat because there was a lot of crowd there. I bathed on the banks of Bhagwati Ganga with thousands of people. Wherever there is Ganga-Jamuna, bathing there will give Amrit."

Swami Rambhadracharya requested the devotees not to insist on going to Sangam and take care of their safety. He said, "Today, more than the capacity crowd has come in Prayagraj. Everyone should take bath at their nearest ghat and take care of each other's safety."

Strict security arrangements: In view of the huge crowd of devotees in Mahakumbh, the security system has been tightened further. The police and administration are fully alert and ready to deal with any untoward situation.

Conclusion: After this stampede on Mauni Amavasya during Mahakumbh-2025, the situation has been brought under control due to the promptness of the administration. Devotees are once again bathing at Sangam and other ghats. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other spiritual gurus have appealed to the people to maintain restraint and follow the guidelines of the administration.
