Earlier on Sunday too, the Defense Ministry held a press conference. Agneepath scheme was launched on 14 June. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh was also present on the occasion.

New Delhi : Since the launch of the Agneepath scheme, protests started across the country. On the other hand, the government has also issued the notification for the recruitment. The three army chiefs met Prime Minister Modi at his residence on Tuesday to apprise him of the situation about Agneepath. Army Chief General Manoj Pandey, Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar and Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhary were present in this meeting.

A day earlier in Bengaluru, PM Modi had said that initially any new decision may seem bad but these steps will take the country to new heights. However, Prime Minister Modi did not mention the Agneepath scheme or any protests.

Along with the Defense Ministry, NSA Ajit Doval has also made it clear about the Agneepath plan that it will not be withdrawn. Let us inform that according to the notification issued for the recruitment, there will be recruitment in 6 categories. It includes Agniveer General Duty, Agniveer Technical, Agniveer Clerk, Agniveer Tradesman, Agniveer. The government is trying its best to end the dispute over Agneepath.
