England's star fast bowler Jofra Archer has returned to competitive cricket after a long gap. Archer has made his intentions clear with his return and it was visible in the very first match of the SA20 League. The 27-year-old right-arm fast bowler made his second innings debut with the MI Cape Town team in the South Africa T20 League and took a maiden over in his very first over.

wreaked havoc in the first over

Archer came in to bowl the third over for MI Cape Town and managed to pick up a wicket in his very first over. He took his first victim of the match in the third ball and dismissed Paarl Royals opener Vihaan Lubbe. After this, he also bowled three dot balls against his fellow England player Jason Roy and managed to bowl a maiden over without any runs.

Miller's half century stopped

Archer, however, was a bit expensive in his second over and conceded 13 runs. In that over, his England captain Jos Buttler hit a six off the first ball and then Jason Roy also hit a four off the last ball. Archer then brought his second spell in the 14th over but this time too he conceded 12 runs. However, Jofra, known for his deadly bowling in the death over specialist, once again showed his old colors and walked David Miller on the third ball of the 19th over. When Jofra dismissed Miller, the South African batsman was scoring runs and was nearing his half-century. Archer got Miller caught by Linde at the score of 42 runs. After this, Archer made Ferisco Adams his victim on the very next ball and took three wickets. This MI bowler also had a chance to take a hat-trick here but he missed it.

Archer took maximum 3 wickets

Due to the excellent bowling of Archer, the Cape Town team managed to stop the Paarl Royals at a score of 142. Archer was the most successful bowler for Cape Town, conceding 27 runs with a maiden in his four overs and taking three wickets.

Will play with Mumbai Indians in IPL

Let us tell you that Archer will be seen playing for Mumbai Indians for the first time in the Indian Premier League this year and will be partner of Jasprit Bumrah. He was roped in by the Mumbai team for a hefty amount in last year's mega auction. But then Archer could not be a part of the league due to injury and the Mumbai team also struggled with the lack of bowlers throughout the season and finished last in the points table.
