New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi met German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Saturday. After this meeting, Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra said that India is closely monitoring the matter of custody of Baby Ariha Shah with the German authorities. "This is a very sensitive matter, something we care deeply about, our embassy is in very close contact with the parents and the German authorities about this," the foreign secretary said.

Kwatra said that because this matter is related to a child, there are many serious issues regarding privacy in it. I don't think it would be right for me to comment on them. But we care deeply about it, are very sensitive about it and parents are in close contact with us on this matter.

Ariah Shah, daughter of Bhavesh and Dhara Shah, has been in a foster home in Germany for the last 18 months. Those children are kept in Fostum Home whose parents are either not in this world or they are unable to take care of the child. Ariha's parents meet her only once a month.

Ariha's father works as an engineer in Germany on a work visa. Ariha was 7 years old when blood was found in her diaper. This time the German authorities took the girl into custody. German authorities accused the parents of sexually abusing the child. The girl's parents say that the girl got hurt in a minor accident. Since then, Ariha's parents are fighting a battle to get her back.

In August, Ariha will complete two years in foster care. According to German law, if a child remains in foster care for two years, the child cannot be returned to its parents. According to German rules, the child will be unable to cope with new situations and culture shock.
