US Presidential Election: US President Joe Biden officially handed over the reins of the Democratic Party to Vice President Kamala Harris at the Democratic National Convention held in Chicago on Monday night. Biden (81) described Harris (59) as the most suitable person to protect democracy and claimed that she would prove to be a 'historic president'. Biden asked the thousands of leaders and activists present at the conference, "Are you ready to elect Kamala Harris as the President of America?" He appealed to the countrymen to vote in favor of Kamala and said, "We need to save our democracy. We need you to defeat Donald Trump and make Kamala Harris President." Biden claimed that Trump will realize the power of women in 2024 and Kamala will soon become the 47th President of America. He said, "We protected democracy in 2020 and we have to do it again in 2024." Biden attacked Trump while recounting the achievements of his tenure, calling him a failed president and alleging that he did not fulfill the promises of infrastructure development.

Biden's daughter Ashley welcomed him during the Democratic National Convention, while Biden emotionally hugged Ashley and wiped her tears. Biden said that the decisions being taken now will decide the future of the country and the world.

Biden targeted Trump and said that he was a failed president. Accusing the former president of rejecting the strongest border security bill in American history, he said, "America is winning. America is prosperous. America is safer today than during Donald Trump's (presidential) tenure."
