Pension Scheme: There is important news for central government employees. The government has issued a new rule regarding family pension. According to the rules issued, such children of deceased government employees who are mentally handicapped will also get the benefit of family pension. Children who suffer from mental disorder are also entitled to family pension.It is worth noting that children suffering from mental disorders face problems in their upbringing and living due to non-availability of family pension as they are unable to maintain themselves. These children have to depend on others.Union Minister gave informationUnion Minister Jitendra Singh said, 'The Department of Pension and Pensioners' Welfare has come to know in conversation with the people that banks are not giving the benefit of family pension to such children. Banks are refusing to give pension to children with such mental disorders. Banks are asking for guardianship certificate issued by the court from these children. The government under the leadership of Narendra Modi is trying to make the lives of common people easier and for this the mantra of good governance is being emphasized.Nomination necessary in family pensionJitendra Singh said, 'To help the people in such a situation, the provision of nomination in the family pension is being made necessary so that the children of the employees can get the pension without interruption. Even children suffering from mental disorders can easily get guardianship certificate from the court, it has also been made easy. The children of the deceased government employee have to give a certificate from the court, on the basis of which family pension is given. Banks cannot insist on guardianship certificate from such children and cannot refuse pension on the ground that they first get the certificate from the court.Pension will have to be given even without certificateAfter this announcement, if any bank refuses to give family pension to children suffering from mental disorders without a guardianship certificate issued by the court, then it will be in violation of the statutory provisions of the Central Civil Service (Pension) Rules, 2021. That is, in such a situation, action will be taken against the bank. If a child suffering from mental disorder is not a nominee in the pension plan of his parents and court certificate is sought from him, then it will be against the purpose of pension.Instructions given to banksAfter this announcement, clear instructions have been given by the government to the managing directors of all pension disbursing banks. The government has asked the directors to instruct their Centralized Pension Processing Centre, Pension Paying Branch to ensure that mentally challenged children get the benefit of family pension. This pension will be given to those children through the nominee. This is a statutory provision which no institution can deny. Banks cannot ask for guardianship certificate of the court for such children.
