The Lok Sabha is debating Narendra Modi government's decision to revoke the autonomy of Jammu and Kashmir, after a Rajya Sabha discussion Monday.The Rajya Sabha approved a resolution scrapping provisions of Article 370 of the Constitution that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), and passed another Bill approving the bifurcation of the state into two Union territories, amid protests by the Opposition.Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh were among the ministers who defended the government in the Lok Sabha. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and party MP Shashi Tharoor spoke against the government's decision.
