India captain Rishabh Pant, who made a comeback in the five-match series after beating South Africa by 48 runs in the third T20I, said he felt he was 15 runs behind in the batting but the bowlers did a great job. This is India's first win against South Africa in any format this year. After the win, India have kept their hopes of winning the series alive. However, despite the defeat, South Africa are still 2-1 ahead in the series. Batting first, India scored 179 for 5 wickets and then bundled out South Africa for 131 runs in 19.1 overs. Rituraj Gaikwad scored 57 and Ishan Kishan 54 for the hosts, while Hardik Pandya scored an unbeaten 31. Pant also pointed out where the team needs to improve.

Rishabh Pant said after the match, 'Both the batsmen and the bowlers performed well. We thought we were 15 runs behind but didn't think much about it. The bowlers did their job well. In India, the role of spinners in the middle overs is important, so there is pressure on them. Playing without pressure in such matches gives such result.

Yuzvendra Chahal took three and Harshal Patel took four wickets for India. About the middle order faltering after a good start, he said, "It is not a good thing but after a good start, the new batsman finds it difficult to play fast as soon as he comes. We will try to improve it in the next match.
