Cricket / Chahal's wife reacts to his exclusion from T20 WC squad, says 'This too shall pass'

Yuzvendra Chahal's wife, choreographer Dhanashree Verma, took to Instagram Stories to react to the cricketer's exclusion from Team India's squad for the T20 World Cup 2021. "Mother says...This time shall also pass. Live with your head held high. Talent and good deeds always support us," she wrote. Notably, Chahal was a regular in India's T20I setup for last few years.

Cricket Desk: In the most recent turn of events, BCCI announced the 15-man squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup which is all set to take place in the UAE. While there were some relatively new names that came up in the squad, there were some surprising exclusions too. The exclusion of ace leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal turned to be one of the biggest surprises from India’s T20 WC squad.

As India’s squad came on up on the table during the late hours of September 08, 2021, fans and supporters started questioning Chahal’s omission. In the same light of events, spinner’s wife and dancer Dhanashree Verma has come up with an indirect story on her official IG handle where she has talked about the hard times. She made a point in her post (related to Chahal’s exclusion) that this is probably the tough phase in their lives but even this will pass eventually and that God is always great.

“Maa Kehti hai ki ye Waqt bhee guzar jana hai. Sar Utha ke jiyo kyuiki Hunar aur ache karm hamesha sath dete hai. Toh ji baat aisi hai ki yeh waqt bhi Guzar jaana hai. God is always great.”

As soon as Chahal’s exclusion came up on the table, people started questioning it. However, India’s former pacer and head of selection panel Chetan Sharma opened up on the matter and added that they needed fast spinners rather than those who provide flight. Therefore, they went with Rahul Chahar, and Chahal was excluded from the lot.

Chetan Sharma opens up on Yuzvendra Chahal’s omission

“Yuzvendra Chahal’s name was discussed. But we picked Rahul Chahar over Yuzi as we wanted someone who bowls fast and gets pace off the pitch. He also gets the ball to grip through the surface,” said Sharma earlier.

Another surprising exclusion came in form of ace batsman Shikhar Dhawan who has been a consistent name in the short formats of the game. India will play its first game in T20 WC against Pakistan on October 24, which is deemed as the most awaited tournament of the clash.
