Punjab Police has got a big success in Chandigarh University MMS leak case. The police has arrested the accused army jawan Sanjeev Singh. The army jawan was arrested from Sela Pass in Arunachal Pradesh. After the arrest, now the police will present Sanjeev Singh in the court. Police has already arrested three people including the girl in this case. One of which is girl's boyfriend.

In a tweet on Saturday, the DGP of Punjab Police said that an important breakthrough has been achieved in Chandigarh University case with the cooperation of Army, Assam and Arunachal Police. Police has arrested Sanjeev Singh, the accused army man from Sela Pass in Arunachal Pradesh. Got transit remand from CJM Bomdila to be produced in Mohali court.

On Monday, Punjab Police constituted a three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) in connection with the making of objectionable videos of hostel girl students. All its members are women. Meanwhile, the university administration has suspended two wardens on charges of negligence. In this case, the police had said that it seems that the arrested student shared only a video of herself with her 23-year-old boyfriend and no objectionable video of any other student was found.

Three accused are in seven-day police remand

The three accused arrested in the case were produced in a court in Mohali's Kharar on Monday by the police and sought their 10-day remand. However, the court sent the accused on seven-day police remand. Their mobile phones have been sent for forensic examination.

University closed till September 24

The university has been closed till September 24 after a massive protest by students demanding action against the culprits over the objectionable video. In some videos after the incident, some girl students were also seen leaving for their homes with their belongings. Some parents have also taken their children back from the campus.
