Karachi. Pakistan women's cricket team captain Bismah Maroof has decided to take part in the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham despite the organizers denying her newborn daughter a certificate of recognition to enter the sports village. A source in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that it has been decided that Bismah will play in the Games and her baby girl and babysitting assistant will stay at a hotel or a residence outside the game village.

“The baby and the babysitting assistant will go to Birmingham for the Commonwealth Games, but will not be able to stay with them at the Games Village as the organizers did not give permission. Because they don't have any parental policy. Recently, she was also seen with her daughter during the World Cup.

Got the command of the team again

Recently, the board has re-appointed Bismah Maroof as the captain of the team. She will remain the captain of the women's team from 2022 to 2023. However, the team's performance in the Women's T20 World Cup played in New Zealand under her leadership was not good. The team could win only one match out of 7. Bismah Maroof later said that it is an honor for any cricketer to captain the country. It is a privilege for me to continue in this role.

Women's cricket has been included in the Commonwealth Games for the first time. T20 matches will be played in this. A total of 8 teams are competing in it. Australia, Barbados, India and Pakistan are in Group A. That is, an interesting confrontation will be seen between India and Pakistan. England, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and South Africa are in Group B. The top two teams from both the groups will go to the semi-finals. The matches will run from July 29 to August 7.
