Bollywood Desk: This morning, SpotboyE reported that Kartik Aaryan might be replaced in Dostana 2, and that this is one of the reasons why the shoot of the film has been delayed. Karan Johar had announced the film in 2019, and back then, had revealed that that Kartik Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor, and newcomer Lakshya Lalvani would play the lead roles in Dostana 2. However, there were speculations that Kartik Aaryan is likely to be replaced due to creative differences between Dharma Productions and Kartik Aaryan.

Now, Dharma Productions took to their social media and issued a statement in which they revealed that they will be recasting Dostana 2. They mentioned that they have decided to maintain their silence as to why this decision was taken. “Due to professional circumstances, on which we have decided to maintain a dignified silence- we will be recasting Dostana 2, directed by Collin D'Cunha. Please wait for the official announcement soon,” read the statement.

Kartik Aaryan had earlier shot for 20 days for the film, in 2019. The shooting of Dostana 2 had come to a halt in March 2020 after the nationwide lockdown was imposed. Since then, there had been no update about the shooting of the film, and whether it had resumed.

A source informed SpotboyE that Kartik is likely to be replaced because of dates and script issue, and that the actor is ‘unhappy with the script and is unable to allocate the desired dates for the shoot.’ The source further mentioned that due to the creative differences, Dharma Productions wouldn’t like to continue working with Kartik in the near future.
