He also played the first T20 International of his career against South Africa in Johannesburg itself, in which he scored an unbeaten 31 off 28 balls. But after 16 years, Karthik completed his first and fastest fifty. He scored his fifty in just 26 balls. DK played an innings of 54 runs in 27 balls with the help of 9 fours and two sixes. During this his strike rate was more than 200. Thanks to Karthik's smoky innings, India managed to collect 73 runs in the last 5 overs.
