Maharashtra Politics: Lok Sabha elections have been completed in the country and NDA has formed the government with majority. But just 20 days after the completion of elections and formation of NDA government in the country, there is a rift in Maharashtra NDA. A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) official from Shirur in Pune district of Maharashtra demanded the removal of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and his Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) from the ruling coalition.

During the review meeting of BJP in Shirur Tehsil, a video of Shirur Tehsil Vice President Sudarshan Chaudhary is becoming increasingly viral on social media, in which he is seen demanding in a party meeting that Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and his party NCP should be removed from the Mahayuti alliance.

What did Sudarshan Chaudhary say

Sudarshan Chaudhary is heard saying to the BJP leadership in the video, this is a suggestion for you, understand what the party workers are thinking. He further told the BJP leadership that if you want to take a decision, then remove Ajit Pawar from the Mahayuti (ruling coalition).

At the same time, referring to Subhash Deshmukh, Rahul Kulkarni and Yogesh Tilekar present in the meeting, Chaudhary said that if Ajit Pawar was not a part of the ruling coalition, senior leaders like Subhash Deshmukh, Rahul Kulkarni and Yogesh Tilekar could have become ministers.

Conflict before assembly elections

Just before the assembly elections in Maharashtra, Chaudhary gave a statement against Ajit Pawar and said that BJP had been criticizing Pawar for the last 10 years but the workers in the state are now feeling scared because the Deputy Chief Minister is handling the affairs. Sudarshan Chaudhary further opened a front against Ajit Pawar and said that all the BJP workers in the tehsil want that they do not want such powers in which Ajit Pawar interferes. Talking about BJP vs Ajit Pawar in the video, Chaudhary said, why should Ajit Pawar be brought to power, so that he can suppress the voice of BJP workers by issuing orders.

NCP workers expressed displeasure

After this statement of Chaudhary, NCP workers expressed displeasure and BJP worker asked Chaudhary to apologize. Also, some NCP workers reached the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) premises and started raising slogans against Sudarshan Chaudhary. However, Sudarshan Chaudhary later clarified his statement and said that his views were personal and it has nothing to do with the stand of BJP.

Sudarshan Chaudhary apologized

Sudarshan Chaudhary later clarified his statement and said that his views were personal and it has nothing to do with the stand of BJP. After the uproar over his statement, he said that if Ajit Dada has been hurt by my words, then I apologize.

Chaudhary demanded security

After the uproar on this issue, Sudarshan Chaudhary shared a post on social media tagging Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis and said that he was expressing the sentiments of the public after which he was threatened by NCP goons. He said that his life was in danger due to which Chaudhary requested Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to provide him police protection.
