Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced a 3% hike in Dearness Allowance for state employees and pensioners. According to the information given by the Chief Minister's Office, about 7.5 lakh employees and pensioners of the state have benefited from this decision.

Significantly, the state government has also decided to give 30 percent arrears to the employees under the 7th Pay Commission. The employees will get arrears of 50 percent of the increased wages between January 2016 and August 2017. Six lakh employees of the state will benefit from this decision. Central government can also increase

If the DA of the employees is increased again, then their salary will increase once again. That is, the total DA will increase by 3% to 34 percent. It can be paid from the new financial year.
