England started the fourth day with a score of 316/6 and scored 420 runs in the second innings, giving India a target of 231 runs to win. Ollie Pope played an inning of 196 runs. Earlier, India had scored 436 runs and England had scored 246 runs in the first innings.

Ravindra Jadeja run out

Ravindra Jadeja was run out after scoring 2 runs. He ran to take a single off a full toss from Joe Root, but was dismissed by a direct hit from captain Ben Stokes at mid-on.

Shreyas caught in slip, India lost 4 wickets in 24 runs

Shreyas Iyer was caught in the slips after scoring 13 runs. Jack Leach sent him to the pavilion. India lost 3 wickets within 24 runs. In the third session, the team advanced the innings with a score of 95/3. India also lost the seventh wicket at the score of 119.

Rahul was LBW after scoring 22 runs.
