PM Modi News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his first comment on America's allegations that the failed plot to target a Sikh separatist was linked to India, has said that the world's largest democracy is committed to the rule of law and if If someone gives information he will look into it. In an interview to British newspaper 'Financial Times', Modi also said that there is strong bilateral support for strengthening India-US relations and it is not appropriate to link some incidents to diplomatic relations. Modi said, “If anyone gives us any information, we will definitely look into it.”

PM Modi said, “If any of our citizens has done anything good or bad, we are ready to look into it. Our commitment is to the rule of law.'' US federal prosecutors have alleged that a man named Nikhil Gupta was working with an Indian government employee in a foiled plot to assassinate Sikh separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. Pannun holds dual citizenship of the United States and Canada. India has already formed an inquiry committee to probe the allegations. In the interview, Modi said India was 'very concerned about the activities of some extremist groups based abroad'.

Extremists are working against India under the guise of freedom of expression.

PM Modi also said, "These elements are engaged in intimidation and inciting violence under the guise of freedom of expression." Modi also said, "There is strong bilateral support to deepen this relationship, Which is a clear indicator of a mature and stable partnership.' Modi said, 'Cooperation on security and counter-terrorism has been a major component of our partnership.' It is appropriate to be linked with diplomatic relations between India and the United States.'' The Prime Minister said that relations between India and the US are strengthening in various areas including defence, trade, investment, critical technology, energy and climate change. He said, “We need to accept the fact that we are living in the era of multilateralism.”

India-America friendship is at a new level

This allegation has been leveled against India at a time when the friendship between the two countries is at a new level. PM Modi said that “the world is interconnected and also dependent on each other. This reality forces us to recognize that complete agreement on all matters cannot be a prerequisite for cooperation.'' The two sides are now working together under the 'Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (ICET)' on semiconductors, next generation telecommunications, India and the US are working on an ambitious blueprint for cooperation in seven specific high-technology areas, including artificial intelligence and defence. Modi had visited Washington in June, which brought new momentum to relations between the two sides. US President Joe Biden visited India for the G20 summit in September. During this, he had extensive talks with Modi to further expand bilateral relations.
