SCO Summit 2024: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has accepted the invitation of the neighboring country to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit to be held in Pakistan on October 15 and 16. But now another strange invitation has come for the Foreign Minister from jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan's party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. In this, PTI leaders have invited Jaishankar to join the protest against the Pakistan government. Everyone is surprised by this proposal of PTI.

Let us tell you that a PTI leader has invited External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to "join" the party's protest in Islamabad against the government of Pakistan. Jaishankar is going there to attend the meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Council of Heads of Government (SCO-CHG) in Pakistan on October 15 and 16. Muhammad Ali Saif, Information Advisor to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, on Friday invited External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to attend the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest in a Geo News program.

Know why Jaishankar was invited

Saif, in response to a question, said, "PTI will invite India's Foreign Minister Jaishankar to come and join the party's protest. Talk to our people and see that Pakistan has a strong democracy, where everyone has the right to protest." He also said that foreign delegations would be happy to see the party's protest. PTI is holding protests and claiming that the government should follow the Constitution and insist on the independence of the judiciary. The party is also demanding the release of its 72-year-old founder Khan, who has been imprisoned for more than a year. Khan has been in jail since his arrest on August 5, 2023.

Facing dozens of cases, Khan has been convicted in some of them. Pakistan Army troops were deployed in Islamabad to ensure security ahead of the protest called by Khan at D-Chowk on Saturday. The army will remain in the city from October 5 to 17 to maintain law and order for the upcoming SCO. Authorities have taken strict measures to prevent PTI workers from entering Islamabad, all highways leading to the city have been blocked and mobile phone services have been suspended.
