Pahalgam Terrorist Attack: The recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir has shaken the entire country. In view of this attack, an all-party meeting was held in Delhi on Thursday, which was chaired by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. Home Minister Amit Shah, prominent leaders of various political parties and senior officials of security agencies participated in the meeting.

In the meeting, Home Minister Amit Shah admitted the lapse regarding the attack and said, "If there was no lapse, why would we be sitting here today?" He made it clear that the government is taking this attack seriously and is taking all necessary steps to get to the bottom of it.

Questions on intelligence failure and security deployment

During the meeting, most of the political parties expressed concern over the failure of the intelligence system and inadequate security deployment. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi raised the question, "Why were security forces not deployed at the place where the attack took place?" On this, the government said that usually this area is opened during the Amarnath Yatra in the month of June and security forces are deployed there at the same time.

This time, without any government information, tourists started being taken to this area by local tour operators from April 20, which the local administration was not informed about. Due to this, security forces were not deployed before the scheduled time.

Political unity and commitment to strict action

After the meeting, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said that all political parties have unanimously resolved to fight against terrorism. He said, "India has always been strict against terrorism and will continue to be so. All parties have supported the steps taken by the government."

Opposition's concern over Prime Minister's absence

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge questioned the absence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the meeting and said, "The Prime Minister's presence was mandatory on such a serious issue." He said, "How did the attack happen despite three-tier security?" He also added that Congress will support any concrete step taken by the government in the interest of the country.

Owaisi's sharp questions and suggestions

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi also asked several sharp questions to the central government in the meeting. He asked why RPF was not deployed in Baisaran Maidan and why there was a delay in the arrival of the rapid action team. He said, "False propaganda against Kashmiris should be stopped and the killing done by terrorists on the basis of religion should be condemned."

He suggested to the government that pressure should be put on Pakistan under international laws, which may include steps like naval and air blockade, ban on sale of arms and suspension of Indus Water Treaty.

National security beyond political differences

This meeting once again proved that when it comes to national security, India's politics leaves behind differences and unites. It is also necessary that all parties come together on one platform to find a solution on serious issues like terrorism. Now it is expected that the central government will review the security system and take effective steps to prevent recurrence of such incidents in future.
