Jharkhand Elections 2024: The campaign for the Jharkhand assembly elections is in full swing, and political parties are not missing a chance to launch sharp attacks on each other. The leaders of the major political parties in the state, especially the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress, have made every effort to sway the public in their favor through vigorous rallies. In this election season, the focus is also on the attitude and issues of the people of Jharkhand.

Big attack by Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan

Addressing an election rally in Dumka, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan made serious allegations against Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Chouhan said, "The people of Jharkhand have resolved to bring a wave of change this time. The JMM and Congress have looted the hard-earned money of the people." He claimed that the Hemant Soren government "will fly away like a dry leaf," and the BJP will come to power in the state with a huge majority.

Chouhan termed the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress government as "Kumbhakarna". He said, "JMM and Congress' Kumbhkarna does not sleep for 12 months, but keeps eating the hard earned money of the public for 12 months." He indicated that this government is only involved in corruption, ignoring the issues of public interest.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh's sarcasm on Congress-JMM alliance

While addressing a public meeting in Lohardaga, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh called Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, RJD and Congress as obstacles in the development of the state. He said that if the government of these three parties goes, then the development of the state can pick up pace. "The development of the state can be accelerated by removing the three speed breakers of Jharkhand - JMM, RJD and Congress." He also claimed that only BJP can give a new direction to the development of Jharkhand.

Mallikarjun Kharge took the central government to task

Meanwhile, Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge, while addressing a public meeting in Kanke, launched a strong attack on the central government. Kharge alleged that the central government is engaged in selling government properties, including railways, airports and other infrastructure. He said that the BJP government is running on the policy of "we earn and these people sell". Also, Kharge also said that the reservation and rights that Dalits, tribals and OBCs have got under the Constitution are the gift of leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Nehru and Babasaheb Ambedkar.

Kharge took a sharp dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that he does not see the problems of the people of the country and he only gives importance to "2 big people" and Home Minister Amit Shah. He alleged that "only PM Modi and Amit Shah have the say in the cabinet, the rest cannot dare to speak."

Effect of political statements

In this election campaign, BJP and Congress leaders have given prominence to the social and economic issues of Jharkhand. The BJP has tried to strengthen its position by accusing the JMM-Congress government of misgovernance, corruption and lack of development, while the Congress has tried to create resentment among the public over the policies of the Center.

Issues like Jharkhand's tribal community, women's safety, unemployment, corruption and the direction of the state's development remain the main focus of the election. In whose favor the public will cast their vote this time, it will be clear only after the election results.

This campaign for the Jharkhand assembly elections has become an interesting event not only for Jharkhand but for political analysts across the country. The support of the public and the results of the elections will decide the future direction of the state and it will be interesting to see which party will form the new government of Jharkhand.
