During the 8th locker operation today, CBI recovered Rs.36 lakh (approx) in cash and 457 grams (approx) of gold/coins in the ongoing investigation against Pramod Kumar Jena, the then Principal Chief Operations Manager, East Coast Railway, Bhubaneswar Huh. During the search from the premises of the said IRTS officer, the key of the said locker was recovered.

How much money and property has been recovered so far

With this, the total cash recovered by the raiding team is Rs 1.93 crore (approx) and 17.45 kg of gold/jewellery (valued approx Rs 9.75 crore) so far. Earlier Rs 1.57 Crore (approx), Postal Savings/Bank FD Rs 3.33 Cr (approx), Bank Balance Rs 1.51 Cr (approx), Mutual Fund Rs 47.75 Lakh (approx), Bank lockers/premises of accused and family members/relatives etc. Gold bars, gold biscuits/coins and gold jewelery worth 17 kg (worth approximately Rs 9.5 crore) and documents relating to immovable properties have been recovered from the accused, including others.

The CBI had registered a case on January 3, 2023, against the railway official on charges of having disproportionate assets. Earlier searches were conducted at various places including Bhubaneswar, Jagatsinghpur (both in Odisha) and Kolkata. The investigation is still going on in this matter.
