J&K Election 2024: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently addressed a massive rally in support of BJP candidates in Ramgarh. During this, he made a big promise to the people of the valley, saying that if the Bharatiya Janata Party returns to power, Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) will soon become a part of Jammu and Kashmir. His statement was going to raise a major political and national security issue, which is being discussed across the country.

Yogi's claim about PoK

CM Yogi Adityanath said in his speech that the people of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir are now demanding to join India. He claimed that Pakistan, which is struggling with poverty and political instability today, is losing control over the areas under its occupation. He said, "The people of PoK are now demanding the right to participate in the elections of Jammu and Kashmir. Balochistan is also raising its voice for separation from Pakistan, as Pakistan is the enemy of humanity and the world has to be freed from this 'cancer'." This statement of Yogi is being considered as part of a larger strategic plan of BJP, which aims to further strengthen India's territorial claim. Referring to the unstable situation in Pakistan, Yogi said that the people of PoK and Balochistan are also fed up with the atrocities of Pakistan and they are now demanding separation.

Attack on Congress and opposition

CM Yogi also attacked Congress and other opposition parties in his speech. He directly asked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi whether he supports the National Conference's demand for a separate flag for Jammu and Kashmir and the return of Article 370. Yogi Adityanath said, "Do Rahul Gandhi and Congress want to promote terrorism and separatism in Kashmir again? Do they want to push the youth of Kashmir into anarchy again by negotiating with Pakistan?"

Yogi Adityanath accused Congress, PDP and National Conference of making Kashmir a hub of terrorism and said that peace and development has become possible in the valley only after the BJP government came to power. After the abolition of Article 370, new avenues of development have opened up in Jammu and Kashmir and development has replaced terrorism.

Omar Abdullah's reaction

Former Chief Minister and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah attacked Yogi Adityanath and BJP. Omar Abdullah said that the National Conference has made thousands of sacrifices in the struggle against terrorism in the last 35 years. He said, "If we had to follow Pakistan's agenda, we would have done so 35 years ago. But we opposed separatism even after losing more than 4500 of our comrades." Omar rejected BJP's claim that the National Conference has pushed Kashmir into unrest and said that his party has always worked for peace and stability in Kashmir.

Conclusion

This statement of Yogi Adityanath, in which he has promised to make PoK a part of India, is not only politically important, but it also highlights many major issues related to regional security and foreign policy. While the BJP is strengthening its claim to bring development and stability in Kashmir, the opposition parties, especially the National Conference, are strongly opposing the policies of the BJP. It will be interesting to see in the coming times what role these statements related to Kashmir and PoK play in electoral politics and national security.
